BLUE RIDGE SCENIC RAILWAY, BLUE RIDGE GEORGIA
The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway departs from the old train depot in downtown historic Blue Ridge. The Blue Ridge train rides the tracks that follow along the scenic Toccoa River to the tourist town of McCaysville, Georgia. Walk across the Blue Line while in McCaysville, Georgia and you will be in another state in Copperhill, Tennessee. The train ride takes 3 1/2 hour for 26 mile round trip ride, with a 1 1/2 hour stopover to shop, eat, stretch your legs and explore.
The Blue Ridge Railway operates the months of March through December, on weekends until June 13th when it begins daily rides. Then the Blue Ridge scenic railway runs daily through July. During the leaf season of October, daily trips begin in early October. For additional information, call 1-800-934-1898 . Make reservations for the special events as early as possible since reservations fill up quickly.

Travel to the Great Pumpkin Patch where you will get off the train to meet Farmer Brown and his loveable Acarecrow. While at the Patch choose your very own special pumpkin. Departures at 1:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Reservations suggested.

The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway
celebrates the holidays with The Christmas Express -- twenty-three festive, fun-filled train rides. Passengers will be treated to holiday refreshments at the depot before boarding. On board, passengers will hear Christmas stories, sing Christmas carols with elves, and visit with the North Pole's jolliest elf himself during the ride.

Ride the Blue Ridge Railway for an adventurous and scenic train ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway through the North Georgia Mountains as the train follows the tracks along the river banks of the Toccoa River from Blue Ridge, Georgia to Copperhill, Tennessee. The train runs March through December for spectacular views through the beautiful North Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains. In the summertime, a combination package is available that includes the train ride with whitewater river rafting on the Ocoee River. In spring, when you ride the Blue Ridge train, you can enjoy the surrounding beauty of spring with blooming dogwoods and redbuds in full bloom. In late spring, the rhododendrons and laurels will add their blooms to the North Georgia Mountains. In fall, the leaf colors are bright and fiery.
In December, ride the Christmas Express Train to celebrate the holidays Polar Express style along with a special visit to the North Pole with Santa. This is a wonderful family celebration event and essential to make reservations way in advance. The Christmas train ride is extremely popular and gets sold out quickly. In addition this year, Christmas in July can be celebrated on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad. Take a train ride with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus who will be vacationing in the north Georgia Mountains.The event shold be a real pleaser to children of all ages.

The train depot location is at 241 Depot Street in the middle of downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia.
The train route chugs a 26-mile round trip along the beautiful Toccoa River in open air rairoad cars or climate controlled cars. This vintage scenic passenger railroad was built over 100 years ago.
Each train trip, which begins at the train depot in Blue Ridge, Georgia, will stop in McCaysville which will allow passengers to disembark the Blue ridge train for 1 1/2 hours to explore the towns, sretch their legs, eat lunch, eat ice cream, shop for antiques, local crafts and souvenirs in McCaysville, Georgia and adjacent sister town, Copperhill, Tennessee. The round trip will take approximately 3 1/2 hours.
